Welcome to St Kitts and Nevis

Timothy Harris22Hon. Timothy Harris
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis

I am pleased to commend the launch of the new Commonwealth of Nations website that provides an alternate opportunity to the users to have more direct contact with member countries of the organisation.

In this regard, I have much pleasure in welcoming visitors to this website and to introduce the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. As a Caribbean nation that is progressively diversifying its economy, our country provides tremendous opportunities for investors in a variety of ways in sectors that include tourism, financial and telecommunications services, light manufacturing, agro-processing, education and other commercial; ventures.

Since our independence in 1983, the country has played an active role in international affairs through the United Nations, the Organisation of American States and their various institutions, and the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis certainly has been a keen and active member of the Commonwealth of Nations. This nation has paid particular attention to human resource development as a key factor that drives our sustainable development strategies.

A relevant and first-class education system, reliable health services and excellent telecommunications services, along with attractive business incentives, have served to fuel the current investment boom that is taking place in the country. Added to this are the natural beauty, our rich historical and cultural heritage, and the hospitality of our friendly people that are of special appeal to all our visitors. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to visit our country, now is the time to do so. Don’t delay your personal experience of the Caribbean’s “Next Adventure”.
